Found: 1 crane fly adult.
Isn’t it a beautiful insect? The
wings are so lovely and the legs so long.
The adult doesn’t give you a clue about the damage the larvae can
do. Crane fly larvae eat the roots of
plants and can damage lawns significantly when they are present in large numbers.
I have just a spot or two of turf grass left so the appetites
of crane fly larvae do not bother me.
